Encoding in directshow ?
First question: Why ?
That's a good question. Why would you like to encode in DirectShow. The first encoding is not good enough ? What's the problem ?
This is not easy to answer like that.
1° For some people, the normal encoding doesn't work. This encoding has more chance to work.
2° Sometimes, the synchronisme is so bad with the normal encoding, that people can't arrange it. Now, this is possible. To part is made for that also. The encoding does work perfecly, and for me, it is never desynchroniste. Then, the sound and the image are all the times synchro.
3° If you don't have enough place on hard disk, you will use this part. The encoding is working with the double size of the film you want to do. For example, if you want a movie for one cd of 700mb, you will have only 700mb of temp file, and 700mb for the movie.
Ok. Now, let's go in.
First, you must rip your dvd to your hard disk. Don't copy a dvd that you don't own, about the copyright, and so one. But you know that, don't you ?
Ok, to copy the dvd to your hard disk, just click on this button:
Then, select the right ouput directory:
then click on start:
In 10 minutes, you will have your dvd on your hard disk.
Let's take the example, that you rip your dvd in f:\TestDVD1.
Now, click on:
You will have this screen:
Select the IFO file by clicking on the light button. This file is where you rip your dvd, in our example, in f:\TestAVI
Click on next.
You must now enter your LST file. Click on the light button, and go where you have ripped your dvd. In our example, this file is in f:\TestDVD.
Then, Click on Next:
Choose the Right Language. In this case, Select the English Track. If you have more than one english track, select the first one in the combobox.
Click Next:
Here, you must select the video type of your dvd. Look on the original box to see what's the correct output. If you don't have it, or if you don't find it, just select like that: Pal 16/9 1.85:1 is for Europe Movie, and NTSC 16/9 1.85:1 is for United State. Neodivx will make the correction for you after that.
Click on next:
There, you must select the number of cd you want. Normaly, Neodivx select the right option: If the movie is higher than 1h50, 2 cd will be selected. If the movie is shorter, 1 cd will be took. But you can change as you want.
By our experience, it's beter to make 2 cd for a movie greatest than 1h50. But, if your movie has a lot of action ( Like a fight movie), you could select 2 cd for this movie.
Now, if you don't know, just let the option as it!
Click on next:
If you let this part blank ( the default), all the dvd will be encode. If you write 1000, Neodivx will encode from the first image to the 1000 images, then stop.
If you don't know, just let it blank and all the movie will be done.
Click Next:
Choose the output directory for your divx. Let's take for example f:\TestAVI.
Click Next:
Here, just click on Encode button.
If one option is not correct, you can change it by clicking on Change Option. ( See Explication on Neodivx's Option )
If you have select the AutoDivx option, the work is over. If not, follow the AutoDivx here:
