Explication about the Neodivx's Expert tools.
Little message to say that this part is only made for expert. If you are not, please go ici.
Now, if you know what's divx is, let's go:
There, you must select the IFO and LST file. You can find them where you rip your dvd.
Then:
You must select the video Type. Look on your dvd box. If you select NTSC 4/3, you will have a movie size of 720*576 in NTSC, NTSC 16/9 1.85:1 = 720*416, NTSC 16/9 1.25:1 = 720*320. The same way for the PAL. Normaly, PAL = ZONE2 , and NTSC = ZONE1.
In quality, you have -q0 witch is the best quality for encoding, but slower ( This is the best option), and -q1 is the faster encoding ( But the encoding is not so good, don't select it).
About the cutting, Neodivx shows you the best cutting for the output you select. But, you can change the option, but keep in mind: The cutting must be multiplicator of 16.
If you want to encode only a part of the vob file, you just enter a start frame and a end frame. So, if you enter 1000 and 2000, Neodivx will encode from the 1000 images to 2000 images, and then stop.
Then:
Here, you select the sound you want ( english for english, and so one). If you have more than 1 track in english, just select the first one.
About the sound type output, the shorter is Divx 64Kbps. But do as you want. About the amplification, the option is 1.90. More you increase this value, more high will be the sound. But, if you go to high, the sound will be corrupt!
Then:
This option is for the codec. Low Motion is the best, and Fast Motion is the faster. In Low motion, you can predict the ouput avi size, but this is near impossible in Fast Motion.
The Key/Second option is to select the number of Key frame by second. More you put, more slower will be your movie. And if you put a to big value, you could not be able to read your AVI.
About the Quality, this is the quality of the pictures you will have. This option is normaly set to 100%.
About the bitrate, this is the encoding quality. If you are in Low Motion, click on the light button, and Neodivx will help you according of the output size wanted.
More the bitrate is, more the quality of the Divx will be close to DVD. Less the bitrate is, less the quality will be. Normaly, don't go under 830, or the output avi will be very bad.
Then:
Here, you just have to select the ouput directory. Don't select the same directory then your vob files, and select an empty directory. Remember also that you need something like 3 gigas of free space!
Then:
Here, you must do a choose.
If you want to make all the divx, click on Batch command. And all the divx will be done, with the image and the sound. The output avi will be Film.avi
If you just want to encode the image and not the sound, click on Encode.
If you want to record your options to make multiple divx in ones, click on Save To Batch File. ( See How To Encode multiple Divx )
If you don't know what to choose, just select Batch Command. And in 3 hours, you will have your divx.
About the Load Profile and Save Profile, when you have encode all your parameters, you can save it to a profile file, to share your finding with somes friends. And of course, you can use the profile made by others.
If you have select the AutoDivx option, the work is over. If not, follow the AutoDivx here:
